Hi Guys:

Just came back from the urologist. MrGFM's PSA did another slow rise from 0.06 in November 2011 to 0.08. We discussed that radiation therapy is in his future. Not if - when.

Not the outcome I wanted him to have, but at least for now he doesn't need further treatment. We go back in 6 months for our next PSA.

Hubby teaches school so he has been off for the past week being MY nursemaid. I had my tonsils out 6 days ago at the young age of 54. It hasn't been as bad as I had feared.

We are still in the ZERO club for now - so the drinks are on me. You'll forgive me if I pass on the chips and peanut for now.

but that tonsil thing doesn't sound fun.

The great thing about having your tonsils out is you get lots of ice cream. Well thats the way it was a few (5) decades ago.

Future.....stuff changes....Enjoy today!

Beer and celebrations on the zero club. Been a long time since my tonsils were removed but I remember the dr telling my parents to give me as much ICE CREAM as I wanted.

So my advice is to drink up, eat in up and celebrate the good news. Get well soon Mrs. Hubby is doing fine.

Yes I am enjoying all that ice cream. I started eating healthy, working out 5-6 times a week, checking in with a dietician weekly October 1. I've lost 35 pounds and am nearly at goal. All the ice cream I can eat for 2 weeks is a dream come true, but I have to admit - I MISS EATING MEAT!

Slow rises are good, it may just reach a point where it doesn't increase. I was ready to pull the trigger the next test 2 yeas ago, and I still am waiting, test to test, with my finger on the trigger.

yeah, no rise is better than a slow rise, but he's still safely under .10. Even my local doctors didn't consider BCR after my surgery until I had 3 consecutive rises above .10. hopefully, things will level off for your husband, as it did in the case of Sephie's husband here at HW.

-here's a double whammy for you -
1- congrats on the Zero Club membershsip ( PSA <0.10 - the is no such thing as an absolute zero) -
2- and go for the low - here's to the numbers staying low and levelling off
- in previous discussions in other topics - the aspect of part of the prostate being left behind was creating not-so-perfect numbers - could that be possibly the case here as well?

-whatever - enjoy the moment and many many more !

I'm new here. At age 46 prostate was removed due to cancer, now 51 and still haven't been able to deal with loss of sexual function and all the things that go with it emotionally. Any ideas out there ?
