Friend with PSA of 108

Hi, my friend who I have been nagging for 4 years to go and have a PSA test, has finally had one, resulting in a PSA of 108!! He has been having difficulty passing urine, and that is why he went to the Doctor. His GP has arranged for him to see a Urologist next week, but told him not to worry that it could be something else than Pca.

I find this remarkable as I had Pca with a PSA of 5.8 and a lot of us here were around 5-6 when dx, I fear the worst for him, but just told him that I am here for him, and can assist him if he has to take the Pca journey, he also has pain in his hips and leg.

I will try and get him on HW but at the moment just told him to see what the Uro has to say.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?

Symptoms of acute bacterial prostatitis may include one or more of the following:
•Chills;
•Fever;
•Frequent, urgent urination;
•Low back pain;
•Pain on the underside of the penis or scrotum;
•Painful urination;
•Blood or pus in the urine;
•Groin pain; and
•Painful ejaculation.

Symptoms of chronic prostatitis are slower to develop than acute symptoms and include:
•Painful ejaculation;
•Slight fever;
•Excessive urination during the night;
•Prostate pain;
•Pain or burning sensation when urinating;
•Difficulty starting or continuing to urinate, or diminished urine flow;
•Occasional blood in semen or urine;
•Mild lower back pain;
•Pelvic discomfort; and
•Frequent, urgent urination.
