When I passed the 14,000th post point, I already knew in advance whom I would dedicate the 15,000th post to. It was my intention then, to dedicate it to Lynn, Sonny’s wife who was still in the midst of her courageous cancer fight at that time. But through Providence, she has recently passed from among us, but her memory lives on with most all of us here.
I still dedicate this post to Lynn, so that her memories among the brethren and sisters here at HW PC can still remember all the great things about her, and her personal battle and the message of hope it still extends to all of us.
But I wish to expand it one step further, and dedicate this post to Sonny, himself. He has been such a model member here at HW, right from the start. I remember the day that he joined us here, and I may be wrong, but I was either the first or one of the first to greet him here.
Sonny always gives thoughtful and well balanced threads and posts here. Many of you have gotten the privilege to meet him in person, between his travels and his group meeting visits, and from the sounds of things, many more of you will get to meet him as he’s about to embark on his grand, almost epic road tour in “The Beast”. Truly one of the great motor homes I have ever stepped into before. Like a mini-mobile palace.
Despite his own PC battle, Sonny has shown us how to be a model husband, under the most adverse of conditions. He sets such an outstanding example in this area, one we can all model and learn from.
I have met our brother Sonny twice, along with Lynn, right here in Easley, South Carolina. They were very gracious visitors, and made me feel at ease instantly. Looking forward to seeing him again when eventually he heads south toward Florida on his way back home.
Sonny is a great example of how we should be here at HW, and how to act, and how to respond to others – all in all, a great person to find and seek support with. His kindness is always appreciated, by me, and others.
Sonny, if I drank, I would raise a glass to you in your honor, as you start this new phase of your life. So I will toast you with a chilled glass of Pellegrino, if that will do lol.
Travel safely, my friend, and continue to bring your personal message, “of every day is a bonus" to as many people as you can on your trip. Think of the new memories you will be making, surely to last a lifetime.
All my best,
David in S.C.
