To this day only my wife and my doctors know I had (whoops...have) PCa. Did not tell my kids (14 and 17) or any of my friends. I just never saw what benefit it would be to them to know. I live in a small town and once one person knew, many people would know. I didn't want people that were not close to me asking about it. I always figured that I can tell people someday if I want to, but can never "un-tell" them. To this day I'm thrilled with my choice. I was fortunate that I could have seeds and never needed to take off much time, so that made it easier.
Will I tell my son when he gets older? Will I promote men getting a PSA test when the subject come up?...absolutely.
