Myers has me check my CTCs every 4 months, but not through ApoCell...

very interesting...

Wow - yeah this is very interesting - no more biopsies?

"This technology could potentially eliminate the need for painful biopsies, be used as a screening tool and speed up the development of new drugs," says Poklepovic. "We are excited to be one of the first cancer centers currently utilizing this technology and eventually we hope to expand the use of the device for a wider variety of cancers and also in earlier stages of the disease."

Our oncologist in Vegas does the CTC every couple of months, but when I asked our oncologist in CT (who referred us to the Las Vegas dr) about doing at CTC count, his respose was, I could order one BUT to be honest with you, I have no idea how to read the results...it is cutting edge information and Dr. Vogelzang in Las Vegas is the one you need to have run these types of work.

Good read. Both Myers and my urologist look at CTC. My wife's oncologist says there may be promise with breast cancer as well. They scary thing is that CTC is pointing out that the cells may blood born long before tumors show up as mets. Myers says half of the 50 year old men will show PCA cells in their blood drawn from their arm. His did at age 57 when he was diagnosed.

Also read the next article on the combnation of IMRT and HDR brachytherapy. This is what I had (though I had two HDR procedures) and am glad to see it becoming more widely available as a treatment option.
