I posted this for all the guys who may be contemplating SRT, or who may end up having it someday.
It really is not to be feared as some awful procedure. I understand I may have some side effects down the road, but advanced PC is no walk in the park either.
I consider my treatment adjuvant in nature. After 15 months of a slow progression of PSA to .06, I considered it Bcr, although many would say .1 or .2 is the magic number. Dr. Stephenson has done some work in this area about
the impact of earlier radiation and the improved long term results. It only made sense to me to try and catch the PSA producing cells in the prostate bed before they had a chance to go elsewhere.
I would recommend IGRT on the Tomo, which takes a CT scan prior to every treatment to insure proper placement of the radiation. It seemed to be a very exacting technique, that reduces the possibility of unwanted damage to the bladder, rectum, etc.
Now the wait for future PSA results.............
