This is quite an amazing statistic for high risk patients, and suggests that adjuvant chemo may become more prevalent. When I talked with Dr. Scholz, he suggested that it would increase my chance of cure by 10% or so, but we didn't discuss an extension of time to subsequent biochemical failure if a cure was not obtained.
For many, there is a problem of deciding to pull the trigger without published studies. In my case, I had some qualms, but I simply could not find any oncologists in my area who would administer docetaxel adjuvantly,and couldn't afford to go to California for the time it would take to have it done.
