Guys

 

I’m due to see my Uro next month. He has told me that my PSA testing frequency can be extended now to 6 monthly. Is this the usual protocol (I’m 14 months post-op)?

I can't speak to what's usual but I saw my urologist today for my 12-month post-op checkup. After four PSA tests with "undetectable" results, he changed my PSA testing frequency from every three months to every six months. He said this would continue for four more years, assuming I keep getting undetectable results. Obviously, I hope to stay on the six-month schedule.

Yep, and my husband then moved to annual at about 2.5 years (his choice) so if you continue to show good 6 monthly results,  this may follow. However I think in consultation with your GP you can stay on 6 monthly if you really want to. We didn't want to, and are happy with annual now, but many do check each 6 months. Its perfectly normal for 14 months out. cheers :-)

I have 72 years and the prostate cancer start in 1997 began.
In my case I don't have been a good luck. In 2003 I had a external radiation, Gliso 7, PSA 10>2.5
Recurrent in 2010 PSA 230 > 868.
Scan Metastasis, therapy Zometa, Lupron-7,
date 2011 PSA 868>22
April 2012 PSA1066, therapy Casodex PSA 1066>242
L lost the erection, Cialis and Viagra only do reaction but no good for penetration.
20 units Trimix have been the same reaction. Now will be increase of 30 Units.
Prescription: Trimix N01 (red) INJ 30MG/0.5MG/10MCG/ML-5ML (PHETOLAMINE O.OO3-PAPAVERINE4.900ML-PROSTOGLANDIN E-10.001)
