Radium-233 Chloride (Alpharadin) - Another early access site

My dad is starting radium233 (alpharadin in 10 days) anyone with experience with this new drug? Any info would be greatly appriciated.

My husband had his first treatment of Radium223 Feb. 20th, next one is March 21, next week. First week after he was exhausted. The purpose of this treatment is for bone paid from mets, as we understand it. And with that said, it's been very successful in doing that. My husband has done to hardly any pain at all to severe nausea, dr says from treatment, pain med levels he needed and the aggressive cancer..think we may, just maybe have found the balance..Lets see next week what his numbers are and how bad or good he feels after the next treatment. It does build up in your system after each one, so if he doesn't drink and flush it out he will be worse after this one. So hard to drink and eat when you are nauseated..thank god for Popsicles...but it's not enough.

I have a friend who has prostate cancer. The name of the drug he needs is called Radium 223. It is also refereed to in the literature as Alphradin, manufactured by Bayer. It is scheduled to go on the market at the end of fall, but Mr. Johnson needs it now, and was actually scheduled to begin treatment as part of a clinical trial, in two different hospitals, when a contractual dispute between M.D. Anderson and Bayer prevented him from getting it, and then later at Island Clinic in Shreveport, LA, when they got word the very day he was there that no new people were to be enrolled in the program due to scarcity of the drug. This is the actual program he was approved for. It would seem, since he was sitting in a doctor's office twice ready to get the shot, that he would not be considered a "new" program enrollee, and should therefore be given treatment.
