OK, it's about that time.

I will be giving blood on Friday for my PSA and get the results on Tuesday, so I'll call that a December test. My PSA has been climbing steadily in almost a saw-tooth pattern. Overall it keeps going up. For the past few months, I have been expecting to start HT. PSA goes up, then we do a confirmatory one in a month and it goes down a tad.

Assuming this one is up, we will do a confirmatory one end of December. If up, then we do scans and I assume start HT (unless the scan results would show something that would counteract that plan -- I don't think that could be).

I hate waiting for test results. You can always hope it will go down but it's good to have a plan.

I've got my six month test in the middle of December (my Uro is taking vacation the first week of the month and he told me to wait till he gets back before doing the test - he likes to call personally with test results).

I made a mistake last wk and stated that I was going for my checkup last Tuesday.. Well I was wrong.. got almost all the way to the office and it dawned on me that it was Dec yet. My appointment is this Tuesday. Glad I thought about it before I got to the Drs office.

So yep I am a Dec appointment.

I did a free health screen seminar for men two Saturdays ago...

Darn PSA came back as <.06 which is a bit different then my normal <.01 .... But it was a different hospital/lab... Will hold my breath till January's next test with regular URO's lab.

Well, I hope everyone is doing OK and that all our PSA texts this month (Dec) will turnout OK. I can go to the lab any time I choose and can get the result via the web about 4-6 hours later. I'll probably work up enough courage in 1 or 2 weeks. This test is at the 4 year mark after my SRT for me.
Hoping and wishing for low numbers for all of us.

Belated November post, just got my results from Bostwick..........another <.1.

This was the first test that I had no anxiety over. Another in January with my next six month Lupron shot.

Just got my November PSA #'s too. I'm peeking in the door of the zero club: 0.2 which is a new low. Started IMRT this week, so taking the next thrill on the roller coaster ride from h***.

My husbands got his first PSA after surgery today; not sure of exact number but they said it was around zero. I was truly nervous about the results of the test.

My PCP did a blood draw yesterday at 2 PM and called me at 7:30 this morning to tell me it was <.01. All of my previous numbers had been .1. But he uses a different lab that will extend the decimal points. I'm not complaining. Merry Christmas to me.

Got some pretty bad news today:

My PSA went from 5.86 to 9.0 in 1 month.

I will do a confirmation in 3 1/2 weeks, but I am not going to wait any longer on doing the scans. I just scheuled them for the 19th (2 weeks).

Sorry to hear about the big increase. Sounds like a call to action. As you know the scans are still unlikely to find anything. Hopefully they can detect an abdominal lymph node, that could still be radiated.

Really sorry to hear the bad news Mel - was hoping/praying for good results for you. You are still in control of your journey, glad to hear you took action and scheduled the scans. Keep us posted, we're all here. . . .

Mel, Not the news we wanted. Yes, time to get the scans.

hang in there and let us know the results. Here's hoping they find something that can be fixed.

Mel sorry to hear that. It does appear it may be time to join the ht club. Are you getting traditional scans or the Na18 PET

Thanks for all the wonderful support and comments. I am really bummed about this, but I did expect a disappointing result.

The scans will be the traditional ones. I guess I'm going for the "local convenience."

With my fast-rising PSA, are they still unlikely to show anything?

Frankly, I hope they don't show anything, but I suspect they will. But I'm not sure of the probabilities.

One of our members had all the scans in DC, and they found nothing. It was a soft tissue MRI that found some areas like a lymph node. Most of of the scans are looking for bone mets, not swollen nodes.

Dr. Myers says that the most logical place for escaped PC is te abdominal lymph nodes.

Just sayin.
