For Gleason 6, if your pre-op PSA was low and the number of positive cores was low there is an excellent chance that your 8 week post-op PSA will be near zero. Moreover if your pathology report was favorable: no extra prostatic extension, no positive margins, no seminal vesicle invastion, small cancer, still Gleason 6 your odds are even better. For more info go to MSKCC and look at their nomograms for calculating the probability that a cancer is confined to the prostate given various PSA and biopsy results and you'll get a much more accurate idea. Googe MSKCC prostate nomogram. If the cancer was confined to the prostate the PSA should be near zero.
