Ejaculation without prostate

I had my prostate removed recently and have developed some curiosities about sex after surgery. Since the majority of the ejaculant before surgery came from the prostate, what does the ejaculant look like after surgery. What does "coming" feel like? Is there pre-cum? Will I need lube from hereon in? Should I wear a condom in case of dribbling during intercourse?

Your Cowpers gland can still produce a little slime too. So don't be suprised if you see a little of that as well. But that fluid will be inert as far as pollination goes. I would say my orgasms are a little muted, and different, not quite as intense. But they are satisfactory. Just and odd experience pumping out of a dry well.

Thanks guys... I'm new in this area gas of 5 weeks but I wanted to get educated since I can't do anything else. One other question... how long before you attempted your first ejaculation? AND, is it true that the first one can be painful?

i was one of the lucky few, zero ED after surgery. i was on my orignal catheter for 63 days after surgery, and was having "wood" with the catheter in place, even had 2 orgasms with the catheter (though wouldn't reccomend that to anyone). never had any pain associated with sex after my surgery. sure different guys will have different stories about this question

As you can see, there are variations among different patients because every case, and every person, is different.

In my case, I ejaculated a lot of urine for a few months after my prostatectomy. This is not uncommon and does clear up as time goes on. I have the same feeling with orgasm as before my surgery -- and actually MORE pleasurable than before.

Also, in my particular case, I DO have an "ejaculate." Others have mentioned the Cowper's glands. Mine were retained in my surgery. These two pea-sized glands produce the clear lubrication that everyone is familiar with. In most cases, there is a little bit of this fluid that comes out during orgasm.

I guess I'm one of the luckier ones because probably two out of every three of my orgasms produce a HUGE amount of this fluid -- which almost makes it feel as if I'm still producing semen. Naturally, I am not producing semen, but the large quantity of this fluid almost makes up for it.

Without going into too many details here, my girlfriend recently experienced one of those orgasms and was quite pleased and amazed. She also confirmed that it was all lubrication and no urine content.

So for anyone who is wondering about their post-op state of affairs, please be aware that it IS possible that you will still have some form of "ejaculate," depending on the Cowper's glands. And the sensation of orgasm, whether dry or not, is usually more pleasurable then before surgery.

Thanks guys... what a support you have been for me. Now, to get this straight... nerve bundles, etc gone means no hard-on BUT you can still have an orgasm? How is that possible?

The nerve bundles are required to produce natural erections. However, an erection is NOT required to have an orgasm. Nor is an ejaculation. The orgasm, itself, is just a series of muscular contractions -- something that is possible with or without erection.

Thanks for the support... this is all verrry new to me and, since I have always been a very sexual person, somewhat unsettling. I'll let you know how my recovery from this whole episode turns out.

(Now that may not be politically correct anymore but that's the way I feel.)

I am 5 1/2 years post op from robotic surgery and I wish I had dry orgasms like most say they have, but I ejeculate urine like a fire hose.   A side affect the docs don't tell you about before surgery.

I was very lucky in that from the day the catheter was removed, I had no ED and I was getting rock solid erections without any drugs, and after 6 months I even started waking up every morning with a spontaneous solid erection, which I still have to this day.

With respect to orgasms, I find them not anywhere near as intense and long lasting as before surgery, but when I do have an orgasm now, the momentary contraction is so great , that I can hit the cieling when I ejeculate urine.  No matter if I try to empty my bladder right before sex, I still ejeculate some urine during orgasm and with a lot of force. 

The urologist says, not to worry, urine is steril and won't hurt your partner if you get some in her, but just try telling that to a woman!!!!!

One thing kind of comical is, when I had my prostate, I would just dribble seman during orgasm, there was no real force there.  Now without my prostate, I can ejeculate urine across the room with a good orgasm. :) Figure that one out.

HighlanderCFH,,,,,I am continent about 99% of the time and only leak during stress like passing gas or caughing o lifting something heavy. 

On the other hand, when I get sexually aroused, I am totally incontinent.   I can actually feel my splinkter muscle start to relax and I will start to drip uncontrolably.  It is really frustrating because I have put towels down so I don't drip on the bed and I have to be carefull not to drip on my partner. Even if I try to empty my bladder before sex, I still will drip a little.  My uro says I just have to live with it. I know about the surgery but I think since I don't leak other then when having sex, they would not preform this surgery on me because I don't qualify as incontinent.  

If I am going to ejeculate urine, then at least let it look like seman.  I have been looking for a way that I can change my urine color to white by maybe by drinking some colored  liquid or something. Well at least if I am going to ejeculate liquid, at least let it look white like seman :)

The only solution I have found is to drink a lot of water an hour or so  before sex so at least my urine is diluted and there is no smell.  Also staying my back and letting my partner be on top helps a lot because gravity helps the urine from dripping.  Other then that I just have learned to live with it.
