Hi everyone.  I'm back to check in.  My Dad is doing very well!  Has an occasional leak if he lifts anything too heavy but not too bad for just having surgery on September 27. This month is scary b/c I know he goes to his urologist for his first PSA test.  confused    If any of you forgot, he had a gleason score of 7, prostate size 60, @surgical margin less than 1mm.  Perineural invasion present.  Path stage T2c.  So asking for prayers that his PSA level is 0!  I believe his appointment is toward the end of the  month.

Good luck to your dad. His numbers are very much like mine.
I had surgery in July and had two Zeros so far.
Hopefully he will pull his first Zero of the New Year.

Hi.....I am hoping for the best for your dad. My husband has not yet had a follow up PSA so I know what you mean about the "scary" thing.

He is lucky to have a daughter like you - watching over him

PSA anxiety is real. I am sure your father will be just fine.

Here's hoping for lots of zeros.

Thanks everyone. Sure means a lot to hear from all of you. We are praying for the best! Scary is kind of an under-statement! I'm a worrier on a normal day!! I have faith in the doctor tho and I suppose its just wait and see. Very pleased with how dad is coming along.

Good luck to your father, don't let that upcoming PSA test ruin your day or his. Hopefully he will get his "zero" and everything will be ok.

nmckinley - I'll jump in and wish you and your Dad the very best for a low, low score on this first post op PSA. I'm just a bit ahead of your Dad, had my first post treatment PSA on December 21st and I do understand the anxiety leading up to hearing that number!

Good morning. Just spoke to my dad and he actually had a blood test already for VA hospital and his PSA was 0.01. He actually isn't set to see his urologist until February but was wondering if the 0.01 was good?? Not exactly 0 but not too far from it. His surgery was September 27, 2012. Thanks!
