For anyone interested, I got hooked up again with Skype on both my laptop and my phone.  Took a break from it for a while, plus I didn't understand at the time how it worked other than the basics.  If you would like to Skype with me, just e-mail first.

On a related note, does anyone use FaceTime?

I have it on my iPad. It works well

My wife uses Skype all the time to talk to her family back in the UK.

We have MACs and have tried FaceTime but we're the only ones in our family that has access to it so most calls are done with Skype.

That's a good point regarding availability. I only have two people I converse with via FaceTime. Frankly, the phone works just as well (they are in the USA) and they don't have to see my mug!

A very good friend of mine has family on the Phillipines and they Skype a lot

I use both Skype and FaceTime. I find FaceTime to be more robust, especially on international calls. But, of course, both recipients must be Apples users...

Not sure where this FaceTime talk is coming from? Was letting those that were interested in Skyping with me know that I am back on line with it.

No apple stuff on my end.

Anyone tried "Tango"?? Sounds like a Skype clone...Magic Jack is hard to beat if you have a decent internet connection..
