I've lost about ten lbs. since surgery on 1/16/13. Anyone experience this? I think it is just temporary as I do 95% of cooking normally and I've had no appetite due to inactivity.

I've had two surgeries and each time I lose weight - between the pain, drugs, stress etc. I'll shed about 10.

Within six months it always comes back.

It's likely normal but if you keep losing you might want to put a call into the doc. Are you still on any pain meds still? I find once I am off those and back to my regular exercise the weight comes back.

I lost about ten pounds after surgery too. I was approx 174 pounds pre and 164 pounds post surgery. I have stayed at near 164 pounds ever since my surgery but I chalk that up to changes in my diet. No beef/pork and very little dairy.

I went through an 88 week medical treatment once. Lots of drugs, lots of stress, lots of laughs - lost about 25 lbs and it all came back. I was about 165-170 - on six feet - and dropped down to 140-145. Not kidding.

Like the others said: normal.

Just don't buy a lot of clothes because when the weight comes back you will be donating them to some charity. I made that mistake.

Yes. I lost a about 10 pounds before survey (stress) and about 10 afterwards. Mine came back in the same places!

I just had colorectal surgery, in the hospital for 7 days, no solid food for 9 days dropped ten pounds to 150 on my 5'11'" frame, been eating like a horse last week, but not much to show for it yet...hope it doesn't get too windy here or I'll blow away.

I lost 10 lbs. preparing for the surgery by watching my diet and exercising. Then I lost another 10 lbs. immediately after the surgery. I often wonder, where did it go?
