There is a Journal article on DES, 1955 claiming cure (but prior to psa era), there are stories of long term remissions with this drug used. Sometimes it is short lived as to how long it works, alot of variables envolved, usually these drugs are second line therapies which also is generally the area of harder to control PCa with whatever you use. Some one on this forum had a grandpa on this drug and he was like 25 yrs. or so in control of his PCa and was mentioned in this forum at one time. (that kind of results with incureable PCa is worth noting)
Some guys on other forums have alot of evidence and experience with estradiol patches and I have read alot of there discussions, all very interesting and noteworthy. You rarely here anyone complain of nasty side effects on these types of drugs. There currently is no big profits to be made on these, too. No wonder they aren't mentioned as useful or a real option.
Robertcool thanks for links, Casper....after looking at Robert's links the key words off that clinical trial: This study will also assess the venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk of lower doses of GTx-758 (aka Dvt's). In Phase I or II's they mess around with doseage levels (since they are practicing medicine), they did 125 mg; 250 mg; 500mg so it is not unlikely to find that some doseage levels effect risks for clots or dvt's, didn't say if they administered coumadin or blood thinners or aspirin (that alone could be hugely significant too).
