An update
Dakatarin musty be working in that the itch has gone away and stayed away.
Penaten is quite thick, so works best with just a little, and only at bed time aftyer washing and drying everythgng thoroughly.
Have not used any powder.
Things have also felt better since I starting changing the pad midway through the day even if it is not full - this has also reduced the smell, in fact last night Mrs Alf said things didn't smell at all.
Trying little Alf in the fresh air is problematic due to the drips. Also it's too cold here at present for nudity, even with the heating going. Loose boxers while I'm sleeping is the best I can manage, plus lots of lingeriung in the bathroom while naked at the beginning and end of the day.
To explain Tena 2 Here's a photo of mine of some of the pads I have used:
1.bp.blogspot.com/-rcwbKQjgl9U/UFspsQYc2sI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/Ot7aNkeLaSM/s1600/SDC14956a.jpgNumber 1 is Tena Level 2 and the approximate size is:
7 inches wide at the top
2 inches wide at the bottom
9 1/2 inches from top to bottom
The other pads are:
2 = Tena level 1, (this is just too small)
3 = cheap drugstore sanitary towels (€1 for 20) (too narrow)
4 = large female pads supplied by hospital after catheter came out (too long, and thus too wide at the perineum.)
5 = Male Pads from a French store (these have a pocket and are quite good, after you've been wearing them for an hour ior sio they become triangualr in sahpe and fit much better)
6 = triangular male pads from another Dutch drugstore (useless - not at all soft and the jel leaks out of them and gets stuck to everything.)
All 6 pads have a sticky strip on the back to hold them in place in my underwear.
The other thing about
the Tena level 2 is that I am getting via my health insurance and they are thus not meant to be costing me anything. (I have seen no bills so far! If I order them online before 4pm they are delivered for free the next day - and the best option is to order 6 packs of ten as that fills their standard box.) But when I have bought them they are aboput €5 for ten
And while the itching etc has not been welcome, wearing pads has actually improved my QOL as I feel much safer about
going out.
