I am 8 days into treatment and doing really well. My stream is a little slow but that's about it. No getting up at night and only slightly increased frequency (which is more due to the fact that I am drinking lots of water). So have not felt the need to take Flomax/tamsulosin.
Some have pointed out that when the seeds "heat up" in the coming weeks, I could develop a problem. Some took it just as a precaution and I have not read much that would discourage me, so yesterday I started taking Flomax.
Last night I got out of bed to check on something and I fainted to the floor (and hit my head). I wasn't unconscious for more than a few seconds and I went back to bed. I figured I just got up too fast.
This morning I felt like I was sedated - really drowsy, light-headed, slightly confused (it was a challenge to make instant pancakes). I was also chilly, but it's winter and I just turned the heat up a bit.
Then out of curiousity I looked on the site 'drugs.com' and found that my symptoms were all among the known side effects of Flomax. Have a look:

I called my Uro and was (of course) told to discontinue. They said that if I am not having any problems at this point there is no reason to take it and the likelihood that I might become blocked completely without warning is very low. I am going in for the first post-op visit next week and we'll discuss alternatives to Flomax, if and when I need it.
