I heard Dr. Kwon speak on this scan twice in the last two years and he has very impressive results.
However, I chose to have a C-11 PET/CT Scan with Acetate in Phoenix under Dr. Almeida when I had a PSA Doubling time of 6 weeks.
It worked for me. A sole area of activity was detected and my rad onc zapped it, with an immediate drop of my PSA. Immediately after I went on Zytiga and my PSA dropped further to undetectable (so far).
My conservative rad onc was impressed with the results of the scan.

As to cost, I paid $3000. Someone has reported the procedure with Dr. Kwon for him was $7200, but I don't know. I can only offer you my experience.
