Hey guys, I'm back.
Some of you might remember, i have not been diagnosed, but did have a biopsy, in November, the anticipation of which, almost drove me to jump off a bridge.
Biopsy was negative for cancer, but showed High Grade Pin in one core (14 core's taken). Done at Columbia Presbyterian. PSA was 2.2 (then a week later 2.7 but doc had done a DRE prior to the blood being taken (lets not get into that)
Anyway, i am supposed to do a follow up in May, at which time,, i pretty much expect the psa will be up again, since it has been up 3 years in a row.
There is a Uro Doc by the name of Aron Katz that i was told about
, who is very big on homeotherapy - vitamins, herbal supplements, and dietary. He has been published on the subject and at Columbia Presbyterian has conducted numerous research studies. He is now practicing at Winthrop on Long Island, as chairman of Urology.
I am thinking of going to see him maybe just for an opinion, or maybe, if i like him, making him my primary Uro doc.
Anybody know of him, his work? Any opinions?
I know his focus is preventing recurrence in already diagnosed patients. But it would seem logical to me that if he has had success, then maybe his approach would be beneficial in an effort to avoid hi grade pin from turning into full blown cancer.
Appreciate any thoughts, opinions from first hand experience, or otherwise.

Yes, sorry about
that. Seems like nobody hear knows of him.
Does anybody have any experience with/knowledge of/ opinions on, the efficacy of this type of approach of using diet, herbal supplements, vitamins etc?
