Hi Everyone
Well Peter completed his RT on 25 January and did suffer the side effects of bladder and bowel problems. He was also very fatigued, which was exacerbated by his condition following his stroke in 2008. However, six weeks later the toilet problems had disappeared and he was beginning to feel less tired. He went for his first check up on 8 March and we were delighted to discover the PSA had already reduced to 3.9, although we were told not to expect much of a drop, if any, as it took six to twelve months for it to start to register. He has now been started on three monthly injections of Zoldex (hope I spelled it right) to reduce his testosterone. Peter has a pituitary tumour and used to have depot injections to increase his testosterone. His last one was six months ago and the recent blood test showed his testosterone was still in the normal range. I am now expecting his fatigue to return but what the hell, as long as it helps. As soon as Peter completed his treatment we started packing to move to our new home. All this happened in a record breaking heatwave in Melbourne so we were both exhausted. We next see the doctor in three months time, when hopefully the PSA will have reduced again.
Best wishes to you all.
