With David's recent scan and Howard1's question about the C-11 scan, I wanted to put a small list together that would show what scans are available these days for PC.  Please help me fill the chart out.  I'm very familar with the top 4...not so much on the others... based on what I was recently told, my f18 pet/ct scan is for both, as they are looking for both

According to Dr. Almeida's article, C11 PET/CT scan with acetate is for both soft tissue and bone.

According to Dr Kwon at the PCRI Conference, C11 PET/CT with choline is for both soft tissue and bone.

According to both doctors, these scans are only available in centers that have an on-site cyclotron because the half-time of both choline and acetate is so short. Few places have this machine.

Had the C-11 Choline Pet Scan in Janurary.  With a low gleason and

a very high PSA it was very needed as they thought I likely had metastasis. 

Was told it would show PCa anywhere in the body including both

soft tissue and bone.
