Just checking in with the group.  Saw my Uro for my one year follow up after Robotic Surgery.  PSA is still undetectable.  Haven't had incontinence problems since about eight weeks after surgery.  Still have ED but a trimex injection helps and the Doc gave me some sample Lavitra to try now.  (Daily Cialis did nothing for me a month after surgery).  I always ask Docs for odds and he said he tought there was 85% chance I'm cured, but that it takes ten to fiveteen years to know that for certain because PCA such a slow growing cancer.  I asked how long before I could go to an annual PSA test rather than every six months and he said that was up to me.  So, back in six months but mostly to talk about ED issues I suspect.  Cross my fingers I'll keep having those undetectable PSA results.  No regrets about my decisions.  Except for being a little aware of how much coffee or beer I drink, and keeping a coffee can in the car just in case, my quality of life the same.

I'll check back in another six months.

Hi Bill - one year out from RARP and it sounds like things are going well for you - especially love hearing about your membership in the "Zero Club" - yeah!!!!!

Bill - I am glad to here of your zero!  My surgery was at the same time as yours and I have often followed your posts.  Like you I am continent (at about 4 months).  I still feel "funny" at times and have some frequency.  I threw out my last pads last week.  I was wearing them only to work out but I don't need them even for that at this point.  I also have ED - and am very upset by it.  I am jealous that you have rolled with the punches " so to speak".  I have had a hard time dealing with it psychologically.  I get some morning erections but get almost nothing if I try relations in the evening.  I have to say that I often regret my decision - should I have waited for proton therapy etc?.  The whole process has changed my life and my marriage.  On a positive note I had a zero at nine months but I am dreading going again.  Hope fully we'll keep moving in the right direction on the ED front.

HCV, have you tried the ED pills? If you get morning erections (naturally?) I'd think they should work.

DavidG - I am taking Cialis 5mg eight night. I thought that I might be able to get by on pills but last Saturday I tried Levitra 20mg in the evening and I had little results. Its so frustrating that I find myself pulling away for any sexual opportunity. Essentially I want my old life back but its too late. Weekdays are OK as I am busy - but weekends are when I really feel the change of life.

Have you tried the 20 mg cialis?

It sounds like you're close to to getting one between the morning erections and the little results.

I'm sorry you're feeling down. I went through a "pensive" phase after my surgery and though it was everything, cancer, hitting 40, grown up kids, and suburbia. What was weird with be is that they found a severe vitamin B and D deficiency and once I started taking vitamin B12 my perspective changed.

@HCV I just tried 20mg Lavitra and had a partial erection. Not as good as trimex but I saw it as a sign of things coming back to life. I had noticed things weren't what they used to be before surgery. I'm not sure if that was attributable to age or the PCA.

Bill here from Florida, congrats on your progress so far. I had my 9 month check up a couple of weeks ago.
I was told I had a 20% chance of reaccurance in the next 10 years. My surgeon said it takes a while for a cell to start developing, but my tumor was much larger than yours so you might have better luck than me at keeping your Zero Club membership.
I am still having incontinence issues, 2-3 pads a day. Pelvic floor therapy starting Friday 5/3, hope that helps ending the dribble soon.

Bill here from Wisconsin--went to school in Chicago...I'm glad that you are a member of the ZERO club--regarding ED--"Keep it UP"--I mean you are showing progress and hopefully it should resolve itself!! Attitude is everything so don't get depressed cause it can screw up lives and marriages--DavidG mentioned vitamins--maybe--All the best to you.

I tried Cialis 10mg on Friday and 10mg on Saturday last weekend.  Saturday night I got a significant partial erection but not for penetration.  It made my whole week.  Keep it up - I am trying to be positive.  Best to you as well.
