My brain seems not to be too worried about
what's going on. I have just realised that yesterday was the fourth anniversary of that unwelcome conversation with the uro when I was told I had PCa.
And today I don't feel like saying much more! PSA less than 0.01, and despite the lows that's what matters.

Happy Anniversary of beating this crap and being a zero club member ( PSA<0.10 - there is no such thing as an absolute zero)
Glad you are here!

Congratulations, not on getting PC, but from having beat it for four years. Hope you see many more years and years ahead of you.

Totally awesome and very cool!
Here's hoping it stays that way.

Way to go Ralph on making it four years and non-detectable. I am sure there are many that are no longer with us that would have loved to have made your post and celebrate <0.01. i am truly happy for you and I hope you go celebrate the good news and forgetabout
the hell that you have experienced in the past four years and the daily wondering if the hideous disease is back.
All I know is that I have made it 28 months with Gleason 9. My Uro Oncologist told me late last fall that everyone that was diagnosed in Jan, 2011 with G9 have passed away and I am the only one standing. My RO just shared with me as I am finishing up IMRT that if I did nothing else, i probably had four years left and if I did start and stop HT I may have eight left in me.
So please go out and get a pint of O'douls, heck for that matter go get smashed and celebrate your great fortune. Congratulations

Just to clarify:
Four years on from diagnosis
Two and a half years in the zero club
The passage of time thankfully makes one forget those anxious days and the hassle of decsion-making etc, but that also makes it harder to offer advice to new guys about
how to cope etc. Thus it creates a bit of a Catch 22 as by coming to HW one keeps being reminded of parts of one's own journey, when for one's own peace of mind one clearly needs to move on.

Alf,
4 years is outstanding! I hear you about
being discouraged and thinking about
"moving on" for your peace of mind..If you do I wish you all the best. Please realize that your informative posts have helped many in their fight by providing knowledge that even doctors are not aware of..I have a doctor in my support group and yet I am the one called upon to give advice to newbees. Not enough credit is given to people like you and many others in their attempts to help...Godspeed regardless of the direction you take.
