Dearest Friends,

Thank you so much for sending the poster of Dad and Gigi. Your messages were both sweet and inspiring and we feel comforted that the Raddest Dad also had the Raddest Friends!!

Even though we miss Dad every day, we know he is in a better place where he can keep an eye on all of us  cool   Sometimes I look up at the sky and feel him smiling down, hear his words of encouragement to keep tackling the problems we all face with faith and hope in our hearts.

Even in my hardest moments, there is one thing I know for sure, Dad's spirit is in our hearts and he would want us all to keep the smiles on our faces smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin

Looking forward to those pictures, especially that special little girl Gigi. Prayers and thoughts for your continued journey without your dad. We miss him, especially the Warrior Women.

I do believe your Dad smiles over all of us. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. He is truly missed.
Looking forward to the pictures.

God bless all of you during this most difficult time.

Thanks for your kind words. It really means a lot.  

On a different, but related note ... our family would like to do something on a continuous basis to show support for the GFMPH gang. Maybe we could spring for lunch or dinner during the gatherings or cover a person's airfare who needs it. Do you guys and gals have any ideas?

This group was so dearly loved by Dad, we would be honored to do something special to give back.

I'm so sad. Please accept my condolences. He will live on in the hearts of some and the minds of many. We will miss him.

I met you dad last year and was at the gathering this year... An occasional note from you and some pics of Gigi would be nice..

I can't speak for the gfmph group because I haven't been blessed with attending one yet. I would like to say reading this still chokes me up and brings sadness to my heart. I had never met your dad, talked to him or barely even chatted online here with him, but I had followed him through his journey over the past couple of years. I think it is very admirable of your family to want to contribute. Whatever you decide, the offer was enough to lighten my heavy heart. My prayers are with you all. You are all good people.

I can only imagine someday in the future that there will be a large group of old guys ready to dance with Gigi at her wedding.

Rad Daughter #!, I miss your father very much but I still hear his words in my head - we will beat this crap - and I try very hard to believe. He was the spirit of this forum, I know you have heard this from others but it's true. No one posted alone, felt alone, with your dad.
It's a very generous offer you make but as someone said, let us continue to be a part of Gigi's life - she was so important. And I'm betting not only a bunch of old guys but old gals dancing with her at her wedding!
Best to you and your family. I am sure that learning what an impact your dad on virtual strangers is a comfort to all.

Miss Bud very much on this forum, it does seem to us too, like a family member passed away. I still am in a bit of shock at your dad´s passing, as he only had 3-4 rounds of chemo, and had more medicines to try. Plus he never complained of pain or bad days, so I assumed he was doing well. Perhaps he just did not complain even when he felt bad. It was nice to see a post with GiGi´s name, felt, even for a moment, that Bud was back. You are right, his spirit lives through you all. Love to your family.

We feel like you are all family too and it's amazing to me as we've never met most of you!! All of the support here on the forum and cards and messages we've received has simply overwhelmed our family with love. Even in the midst of such hardship, love does make things easier to bear.

Many of you already know about the surprise party we had at the beach for Dad to celebrate his one year mark. He enjoyed the recognition, t-shirts and champagne!! What he loved most in life was time with the family. Even though it was only three nights, the impact it had on Dad and the rest of our family was so great. I cherish that time and the pictures we took. I feel so grateful to God for that opportunity. We celebrated life and that's what my dad was all about.

So we were thinking about creating a website and on a yearly basis having an essay contest (not sure of a better word) to send a family somewhere for a few days to celebrate life together. It's just an idea at this point ... we really want to do something to bring joy and support to other families dealing with this beast.

The surprising thing about all of this is that even in the hardest times, there is a silver lining and sometimes that is as simple as realizing how lucky you are to have what you have. Family and friends are everything.

Any thoughts....
