Sometimes I miss this place when I am away. Then I come back and read the carnage that has taken place while I was gone. I have so many friends here and each is valuable in their own unique way. I don't announce when I am leaving I just get sick of the crap. (I have been guilty on more than one occasion of spesing my own crap) . I love all of you. Each of you bring something to the table. I myself profess Christ and I like the idea of heaven. Some guys are comforted with the idea of when the lights go out that's it. I cannot possibly name every man and woman here whom I count as a friend but I will say that many of them were involved in the recent posts that shall not be named. I love you guys. I have a few whom I have shared a bond with for a much longer time. I am blessed by all of you. Billymac I think you are stand up. I always know where you stand on an issue. Logo has inspired me on many occasions. 142 your a good mod and a good man. It saddens me when there is so little tolerance in our differences. We ae bound by a disease. We share that in common but I have learned so much from you all by those things that make us unique. . Goodbye

I was a bit abrupt.... Sorry. I think yes this is a semi permanent thing. I will leave my account open if that is okay and I will be happy to talk to any of my friends by email and I do wish everyone the very best. You are all amazing people but there is just too much infighting over so many things that add up to nothing at all. I think of you all as friends. I cant name names for fear of leaving people out by accident. If anyone needs help that I can give then please direct them my way. May the roads you travel be filled with zeros. Todd

Hate to see you leave, but you got to do what you feel is right.  I will be in contact with you.  You can't escape me that easily.

As for me, this forum provides too much information and support intermixed with a fair amount of worthless banter.  But, I take the good with the bad.

davidg --- I know, it's been relatively civil...look at how many posts were in the AUA thread that spoke on a very controversial topic.  I was rather impresssed with everyone's level head.

I may have missed some topics though...I certainly can't read them all.

This is a horrible affliction that we share. Ironically though, it somehow seems to make us better and stronger men. If you are leaving for reasons that are too personal to discuss, we respect your decision and wish you well. Other reasons will not buy you a hall pass. You are an extremely important soldier in our platoon. Please reconsider.

Do not go. There was no carnage just a little robust discussion, Only this morning I mentioned to newish member "Bermin" that you might chime in with valuable information re. his battles with his insurance company. Now you tell us you are doing a runner??

Todd - very, very disappointing to hear you tell us that you are giving up. While I don't know you personally, in my short 10 months here I have not only seen that you are a valuable contributor, but also a true warrior and inspiration in the battle against the beast. I just guess that given your overall MO and aurora I never expected you to quit anything.

Are there argumentative posts from time to time - yes - but that is NOT the norm out here, and IMHO it comes from the passion that each of us as individuals has.

I'll give you a couple of personal examples - did BillyMac and I throw darts at each other, yes, but I don't take it personal - we each have different beliefs when it comes to that topic. DavidG is a strong proponent for surgery, and I for Brachy - but the minute I heard about what his Mom is going through I jumped in like so many others with absolute caring and compassion for another brother.

At the end of the day we are all in this together - I'll take a bullet for any one of you, and there's no doubt in my mind that is a 100% reciprocal feeling. . . .

I truly hope it's just a bad day and you'll reconsider - but of course if you don't then I can only say that I wish you the absolute very best - brother. . . .

Todd -

As others here have already said, your input on this list has been invaluable. You have been - and are - one of our pillars when it comes to knowledge, insight, advice, experience, and sharing. You are still our Rock Star.

Don't let the occasional squabbles get you down. They pass. Our common bond of fighting the beast will always unite us, despite the occasional dust-up.

If you feel you do need to take a break, quite understandable. Some others of us here seem to be doing that as well lately, and we hope they will eventually come back to us as well.

Todd, just remember that we are stronger with you than without you.

When you hopefully do decide to come back, just remember also that doing so is as easy as pushing a keyboard key.

Todd, I don't know you personally but I have certainly read your posts and know a bit about you through your journey. That's inspiring to a relative newbie like me and full of important information for all of us. At the end of the day, you need to do what feels right to you, but I do hope you choose to remain part of our community--even if only on a semi-active basis.

The infighting wears on me as well, but given the benefits I have received from this community I consider it a burden well worth shouldering. I know that if it were not for this site, I would not be in the place that I am right now and I feel like I'm in a VERY good place.

Todd, two things.

1. Better to use the Ignore Poster option in your profile than to forgo the value received on this board both from and to you.

2. everybody here has some form of prostate cancer. Some days it makes us post things we might not otherwise post, plus doing so behind the confines of a keyboard is much easier to do than we would do in person.

One of the few benefits of having this dread disease is the new perspective to appreciate every day and to not sweat the relatively small stuff.

Todd, I don't know you but your posts all have a refreshing, blunt honesty about them. Your thoughtful threads often set off interesting discussions. Your story of battling PCa and beating the insurance company is very inspiring. I think that you have an amazing positive attitude. You have contributed a lot to this forum. If my husband and I ever have to dispute an insurance company, I will think of you. Good luck.

Todd, if your referring to the spiritual parts, I am in the same mindset. For me, all the scientific advances are fine, but I rest my hope in the Great Physician and thats hard to keep out of any posts I feel I need to make for tolerance sake.

Your one of just a very few I take the time to read thoroughly And I share your ups downs as well. Please drop by with any developments if you will for all our sakes? Bless yer heart!

Okay. so after two phone calls from forum members and a very nice email I concede that I may have overreacted just a tad. but the truth is I don't know anybody's name anymore. So many new guys and the guys I can relate to keep leaving the forum for other reasons. (I miss you Bud) I can't talk with anyone about surgery or catheters or how long until I quit peeing my pants cuz I never dealt with that stuff. All I have to share is hope. I been here 7 years and I should have been gone in 1 year. Then to have a valuable member leave because he shares is faith is just stupid. So what..... There wouldn't. even.be a need for a rule 6 if people would just live and let live. The guy wasn't. preaching a sermon. I am so.tired of people pointing fingers and citing rules. Any way..... I am here. Still. Todd

Todd - glad to hear you've reversed course - as I stated earlier here you set the standard for a warrior mentality against the beast, and your experience is invaluable to so many out here and more that will unfortunately come our way.

BTW despite the fact that I'm still a relative 'newbie' here myself, I can honestly say that I understand your feelings about the demographics and personnel changes here on HW PCa over the scant 10 months I've been involved. But that's o.k., change is sometimes good. To that end, my name is Jeff, but you can call me "Yoop" or whatever else floats your boat!
