I attended our monthly support group meeting last night and the 78 year old who was a newbee last month was there. He was the gentleman who had a psa test and biopsy at our local hospital and had a psa of 151 and gleason 9 ( I saw his folder and results)..He informed me that his ct and bone scans were negative and is scheduled to have his markers implanted for imrt radiation--so much for nomograms! My civilian hospital currently utilizes the old AUA guidelines where 40 year olds are screened and there is no limit according to age--I guess.
I have a meeting with my internist who wrote the current guidelines and will ask him what the future will hold..Interesting--Just saying.
