post biopsy

I had my biopsy at 10:00this morning, went pretty much like you guys said it would I kind of freaked a little when I urinated in the office before I left I knew there would be some blood but it was all blood at first then started clearing,  it's almost normal now. the one thing I wasn't expecting was the burning sensation and feeling I had to go for the first couple of hours (it's fine now) is that normal? thanks again for all of the support it makes it much easier when you know what to expect. i'll know my result on june 5 doc said he likes to tell in person so I had to make another appt. i'll let you know then.

Glad you got that part over with! Our doctor is going to call with the results. If it is negative they set up a 6 month appointment to check psa again, if positive they set up an appointment to answer the myriad of questions. I kind of get the feeling they don't want to get more involved than they have to: one step at a time. I 'guess' that is okay, but....

I was given the results in the doctor's office also. We set an appointment after having the biopsy. It is hard enough to have to wait but it is better knowing you will know the results on a certain date at a given time. Waiting for a phone call can drive you crazy. Also, it is much better to be able to talk to the doctor face to face in case it is bad news as it was for me. I got a copy of the biopsy while I was in his office. Ask for one, even if it is good news.

Yeah, face-to-face seems better. I got my diagnosis by phone, and it was pretty shattering at the time. Not that I was really surprised that it was positive, but the extent and G9 was shocking. Never expected to hear that at my age, to be honest.
