No, I will be walking. Unfortunately, I cant run anymore; had both my hips replaced. I probably wont do the whole thing, too soon after surgery for me. I will do what I can and just hang out and maybe visit the zoo. I havent been there since I was a kid. A friend of mine is walking also with some of her co-workers. She is a Hospital Surgical Tech and helps with prostectomys. She has been walking this the last few years and tells me that there are activities and bands to watch and a robot to play with. I cant imagine having a DaVinci Robot there to play with so that will be interesting. She just said robot so I'm assuming. LOL ! I just found out that my niece will be cheerleading there with her school so my sister is now going. Next year when I'm feeling better, I want to be more involved in this somehow maybe with volunteering or getting a group to walk and raise funds.
Eaglekeeper, you should organize a bike riding event like that, it would be awesome.

Unfortunately I won't be able to join you - even though I guess I'm technically a "Michigander" I'm really and truly a "Yooper!"

After reading your post regarding the zoo visit I remember reading a post from one of the other guys about some of the animals paying special attention to him after incontinence issues. The other day I thought I was ready to go out and my wife started sniffing me and told me to go change my sweat pants. We invested into a couple Terra Trikes (3 wheel recumbent), it's like riding a recliner with wheels, 'trying to figure out how to fasten a big screen on it. I didn't know if this could be helpful for your hip situation. Anyway, I hope you're doing well. Take care.

Well, the weather held out great for this event and it was a huge success. I am so glad that I went and I plan on going every year. It really touched me to see all the support for prostate cancer research. They had over 1600 registered runners/walkers. People of all ages (a lot of families) to support their loved ones. My Urologist was one of the runners and that was great to see and my niece was there cheerleading the runners/walkers on with her school. They actually did have two DiVinci robots there for you to explore. I was amazed to watch kids sitting there manuvering the robot arms to pick up tiny rings and place them on objects. They had Reps there from the company explaining some techniques. Then a friend and I walked the Zoo for 3 hours. It didnt seem to have as many animals like it used too but I still enjoyed it. They had a kangeroo exhibit were you actually walk through amoungst them. I was hoping they wouldnt smell me. LOL ! It was pretty cool.
