Hello .... looking for some thoughts on the following:
I once belonged to a Wellness Center for Pulmonary patients - for two years until last August when I started Taxotere treatments. I do have COPD - and had been on Advair and Spiriva - and Spiriva only (for the COPD) the past 12-months. I really want to go back to the Wellness Center for the excercise sessions three times a week - and this week got the blessings from my Onco and my Primary to do so!
I believe I have a hernia (just above the belly-button) and the excercise sessions last year were starting to bother my stomach. My Primary gave me a referal for a General Surgeon to see for a second opinion on the hernia - but I wonder if I should be considering relatively minor surgery while on Lupron (close to 2-years now) and after just starting Xstandi two days ago! And ... I had recently completed 30-weeks (11-sessions) of Taxotere. Other meds include Predisone (5mg twice daily), Flomax, Spiriva, a daily vitamin and a daily calcium supplement with vitamin D.
My first fear is that what I have is not a hernia - but an extension of the PCa as it has been moving most of the past two years. It seems that good and monitored excercise sessions would be of some value for the PCa. The Wellness Center is a part of the local hospital and is monitored by several registered nurses for about 15-people excercising - with blood pressure taken at least before the warm-ups - and blood oxygen levels taken before, during and after the 75-minute excercise sessions.
I am a newbie ... and have not seen any threads on excercise yet. I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences ... thanks again! My legs, in particular, miss some of the machines we used!!!
