Dustin Hoffman has successful surgery for 'cancer'

I just saw this, and am wondering if Dustin Hoffman could have been treated for PCa??? 

Not wanting to start a gossip column here, but I'm just wondering.......

Dustin Hoffman is in good condition after being successfully treated for cancer, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

"It was detected early and he has been surgically cured," a rep for the 75-year-old actor said in a statement. "Dustin is feeling great and is in good health."

As first reported by People, the Oscar-winning actor will undergo further treatments to help prevent any recurrence of the cancerous cells. It was not disclosed what type of cancer Hoffman suffered from and what treatment he initially underwent.

He's 75, I doubt it was surgery for PCa.

yes, he's a very young 75 for sure. Like you are a young 70...

Seen two interviews with him lately in which he breaks down and cries both times. Once talking about Laurence Olivier and how his grown kids treated him with love when he was terminal, and once talking about what it was like to be an ugly woman when filming Tootsie. Good guy.

"Hoffman will continue to undergo preventative treatments in the coming months, which is standard procedure for cancer patients in remission. Beyond that, his rep has revealed no details; we don't know what kind of cancer it was, when he discovered it, or how long he's been under care. "

Doesn't sound like PCa, right?

FYI, - I read one report that indicated it was throat Cancer in Hoffman's case, but I have no confirmation at this time. For what it is worth.- [email protected] (aka) az4peaks

Well, if it is PCa it would be a personal choice to have the surgery at 75.

In my case, I had a RP at 73 and then a hernia repair five months later at 74.

Admittedly, I was near the outside "boundary" age wise for the RP.

Howie - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply it would be wrong at his age. Just that it is probably more common to seek other treatments at his age or none at all if it's a "minor" early stage version. I totally get and fully appreciate that it's a personal decision.
