Hope you are just taking a "HW Break" for a short season. Would hate to see you gone-gone. You are a worthy contributor here, and I, for one, would miss your unique wordings and input.

But in any event, enjoy your life, as you best see fit.

I hope that you are only gone for as long as it takes to repair your water heater that is "venting". I will miss trying to decipher your codes(I mean writing) which is on a par with Joyce. Enjoyed your island when I was there for 3 days in 68. I liked Don Hoe but couldn't understand the culture of obese people dancing around a pig..
Now that I've insulted your island, I'll say Aloha!

I checked back over your last couple of comments to make sure you weren't going away mad. Doesn't seem to be the case. So you have my permission to resume your life. Mind the tides and the reefs when you are surfing and leave the really big ones to the guys who are younger and even crazier than you are.

I must admit that I suspect you will be back. Life in paradise doesn't always provide enough aggravation to provide grit for one's craw. My parents had some good friends who moved to the big island when I was a kid. They came back to visit and my mom asked them what the weather was like. The wife said "It's always the same... one God dammed perfect day after another."

We'll be here if you need us. You have my email address if you want to talk and I have yours if I need you. I have another trip to Hawaii on my bucket list. Last time I was so busy dumping over a kayak in Hilo bay that I missed the bus to Volcanos National Park so I have to do it all again someday. Of course, if you wanted to do next summer's Alaska cruise there's room on the boat.

I hope it's just a short break. Your posts have always managed to combine color and insightfulness and you were personally very helpful to me when I was agitating over making a treatment decision. Your commonsense statement helped me a lot!
