Today's Umich Appointment

I had an appointment at Umich today. They have formed a new multi-disciplinary group to treat PC patients, I guess using the latest technology (genotypes, immunology,  etc.).

So, I met with the new head honcho. I do not qualify. Only newbies and more advanced cases do. Since I am responding so amazingly well to HT, there is nothing to do. THAT IS GREAT. I really do not want a new set of appointments/tests. They did say when it comes back (it  will) if the scanners can find it, they would try and do a biopsy and analyze the PC/biomarkers, etc.

I am glad that you were rejected!! You have had outstandind success with hormones and little side effects--keep it up.

Actually, I am a little annoyed. When I called, I asked pointedly if my situation fits the criteria. I was assured it did. So, we drove two hours to get there. We finally see the doctor and basically he is asking us what we are doing there. It was a ten minute appointment. We did not appreciate having to go back and forth. Umich is terrible in terms of communication.

But I am overjoyed to be free of doctor appointments and tests for awhile.

I do have liver function blood tests to do in September. I am confident they will be okay. In Two months, it will be back to the usual worrisome tests.

Always appreciate your kind words, but really in terms of PC this was not a negative thing!

Just a little annoyance.

In retrospect, I am happy that I am able to travel -- including the 2-hour trek to Ann Arbor --  and enjoy life.

Back to work today!

I'm looking forward to it.
