(Let's not discuss other forums here unless we are referring folks to them. Each group has it's own ups and downs - 142)

I think you're one of the sincerest persons. I'm baffled with their ration of "resources" that was mentioned...something of almost nothing is still nothing....I posted a few times over there to help out, but I guess they should have been told to use the search function instead of posting.

good to hear from you.

my goal isn't to please everyone at HW, got to be my own self, and post in my own style, and got to give support and advice from my heart. that's the best I can do.

happy and grateful to all the true HW friends I have met and accumulated in the past 5 years, all of them are important to me, as well as there own PC and CP journeys.

Hope you are doing well.

Squirm, thank you my friend. I try to always be sincere, here and in real life, there's only one me - for good or for bad. When I write here, I can honestly say, I always write from my heart, even more so then from my head. That's why I don't always seem light the shiniest apple on the tree, lol.

Tim - I hope through my trials, and my constant support of other's in need, that I can keep my own fighting spirit alive. It's not always easy, I confess. Perhaps that's why I had a melt down at my doctor's this week. Was thankful that I wasn't rejected by him during that tender moment, don't know what I would have done. I was in the middle of a very dark cloud, and for a moment, couldn't see any light. He gently pulled me back on a happier path, and back to the game plan.

Reread your posts.. have to do that often as I do not always 'get it' first time 'round now adays

Wanted to comment on my personal experience w/acupuncture-
Think It was in 2006 that I had maybe 4 maybe 5 sets of 6 sessions each of acupuncture .. took about 12 appointments before I noticed relief. The relief is just now starting to lessen. Pretty good I think

My back muscles sometimes knot up like a 'Charlie horse' that does not go away - believe it is from myofascial pain stuff..

about 2 yr ago, in diff area, my current PM dr (diff dr now than one who did acupuncture) has given me several lidocaine ?trigger point? Injections instead of acupuncture..
His preference..

Those were just too Painful for me - resulted in bad bruising & increases pain for 7-10 days... eventually the muscles did relax though.

Wanted to share that w/you before I forgot - again!!

Hope you (& others!) Are sleeping now.. going to try sleeping again now

diane, thanks for your acupuncture experience, though I have natural long time doubts on the subject, I will do as my doctor advised and give it a chance. It either helps, or it doesn't. Certainly not afraid of needles.

I've been so connected to the Xtandia thread I haven't been reading the others. So glad to read about your relationship with your doctor and his nurse. This is the kind of relationship we had with Jim's doctor. I worried so much about the amount of pain meds Jim required in the months before he passed, and his doctor always put QOL first and made sure Jim's pain was in control, including the patch and taking oxyicotin three times a day,and never did he or myself feel he was not "mentally with us".
You have dealth with these issues way too long for anyone to judge your decisions, we just need to respect them.
As my daughter says, Jim's cancer journey...everyday we had to adjust our expectations...bless you and your family and your wonderful doctor and staff ..

sorry for the long delay, was out of town and out of reach over labor day holidays.

I am around friends, family, and business people, lawyers, etc all the time, and all of them would say, they would never know that I was on such a heavy load of pain meds. that I am still sharp, witty, and coherent all the time. perhaps a bit of smart arse, lol, but that might be a good sign.

In my PC journey, my doctor is dedicated to the QOL side of the equation, for which I will be ever be thankful.

I agree with how Jim's journey is being handled, I full agree, and wish him, you an your entire family the very best.
