Liver Nodule/Lesion

I'm new to this site and quite surprised there is not a section on liver disease#

 

I currently had an ultrasound, followed by a CT scan w/contrast, to rule out a hernia#  Nothing was found in regards to a hernia, but the study did find a 2cm lesion on the right lobe of my liver, as well as a 5 mm cyst on the left lobe of the liver and a 8mm nonenhancing lesion along the posterior left cortex of my kidney#

 

Of notable interest, the 2cm lesion was found on the ultrasound, but not the CT#  Additionally, the ultrasound report stated my kidneys had no lesions, while the CT report stated the 8mm lesion #compatible with a cyst# was found#

 

The radiologist recommended a MRI liver protocol imaging to evaluate for additional liver lesions, which I will have in a couple of days#

 

Has anyone else experienced this?  My primary care provider seemed somewhat nonchalant in the reading of the studies, so I'm wondering if I'm making this out to be more than what it really is#  Is the radiologist being proactive and overly cautious, or is this serious?

 

Any comments would be appreciated#

 

 

 

Get the MRI and see what those findings may be. You have to be concerned about anything cancerous in the liver and if you were to get urinary blockage or issues via kidney related areas, that could have you hospitalized quickly too. Hope you find others with experiences and information.

AFP blood test tumor marker for HCC. Had one?
