Hi david, it is so nice that you can make such long trips to be by your motherĀ“s side. I know about Zometa what I have learned in relation to PC. There was a discussion about it some time ago, I think it was started by Jerry L. Zometa is not supposed to prevent metastasis or slow it down, but when the 2 groups (on Zometa and placebo) were compared, the group on Zometa had fewer skeletal-related events (fractures, etc). So it seems to make bones stronger. I would think that preventing a fracture would be significant for quality of life, but I am not a doctor. My friend died of lung cancer earlier this year, and I know that her tissue was analyzed by some company in the US (this fits into the concept of individual care), and her oncologist matched the medication to her kind of cancer. She was pretty much fine until the last 2-3 weeks of her life. Just another option. Nice that you are keeping the hope for your mom.
