Yes my 38th session of salvage radiation was completed on Friday afternoon!

Laying on the table listening to the machine and it seemed that each zap was taking longer than normal! I know it was just my mind playing tricks.

Overall the radiation was not as bad as I had imagined. Fatigue and tiredness came and went on various days. I've had an increased need to urinate more frequently during the day. Night times are from 1 - 4 times per night depending on how late I drink fluids before bed time. Had some loose bowel also from time to time.

My wife and I went out to celebrate with dinner Friday evening. Last evening we made sure that willy is still responding to levitra and he stood at attention as hoped!

I see the Doctor again in two weeks to follow up on the side effects and then in February 2014 I go to get my PSA Drawn for the first test post radiation treatment.

So I'm hoping that I can perhaps rejoin the 0 club at that time.

Congratulations on making it past the finish line.

It gets better from here. The SE's generally clear up fast.

Looking forward to hear the results of your first PSA test.

Way to go, Lew, you completed your "marathon" race.

As far as ED post SRT, I can only say, that I am almost 4 years post SRT, and it never effected my sexual ability in any way. Didn't have ED before, during, or since finishing SRT. I have been expecting something, but so far, it's never happened.

Hi Lewvino,

It is great that you have finished you RT without major short term side effects. I hope that mid-term and long-term side effects will also be minimal, and that you rejoin the zero-club again very soon.

I am still waiting on final recommendations to do either ART or SRT upon BCR for my positive margin. Tough decisions lie ahead! But is great to know that others before me are doing well.

For my positive margin we took the 'wait and see what happens approach'.

My Surgery was four years ago. First year PSA was done every 3 months.

Then went to six month, then to once a year.

When we saw a small increase in Oct 2012 retested in Jan 2013 (Same number of .2) then retested again in Aug. 2013 and THEN started the IMRT.

I see the Radiation Dr this Friday (Two weeks post radiation treatment) To discuss side effects.

They have been minimal. My energy level is back to normal if not more so! My wife about fainted last night when I stayed up till midnight watching a movie! LOL usual bed time is around 10pm for me.

I urinate very, very frequent during the day. Night times are usually 1 to 2 times.

Had some strange sensations with BM on the left side where it would hurt while having the BM but only on the left side of the anu* .

Levitra is still working its magic.

Congrats on finishing the zappings. I hope your first test goes as well as mine did. BTW, my "nerves" must still be pissed off about the surgery because they only work well enough to let me think I'm gonna stand at attention. For that,I am jealous!!!
