VED Therapy....Yes or no ?

Hey Guys,

does anyone have experience with VED therapy ? and if so do you feel any improvement? or reinstate previous / Original size/ length that was lost in surgery ?

would like to compare notes since i started again VED therapy with manual pump

I started using the pump about 4 weeks after the catheter was removed. I used it about 6 days a week for awhile. I used a scripto to mark the length of erections on the outside of the tube. I don't use it as much now but the erections are much shorter than my "best" markings so I would say, yes, stick with the therapy plan.

Btw, I use a manual pump also.

GB, I used a pump exclusively, starting about 8 weeks after the catheter was removed. I think it helped me regain both length and girth while I used it. Then, I started using trimix about 4 months after I started using the pump. Initially, the trimix didn't give me a firm erection; so I continued to use the pump. Over the past couple of months, I began to get firm erections from the trimix; so, I don't use the pump much any longer.

Dave uses it every day. He started a few days after the cath came out. He doesn't like it for sex and uses it for therapy. I think it's one of those, "do I take a chance and not use it or if I don't and I'm not happy, should I have"? Not sure that even made sense! I guess it's the "it can't hurt but it might help" thing.

Gbinab- I believe that VED is a very important part of therapy, both for recovery and continuing penile health. I used it as directed for the first year, twice a day. Then only used it when having sex. Big mistake. I now believe therapy should be a part of the daily routine. I get no erections ever without it. It is important to have an erection daily,to keep the blood flowing and avoid atrophy or even worse Peyronies. Regards Inkhorn

My husband has never used, and does not own a VED because it is not part of the rehabilitation program that he was given by his ED doctor. I have read that many guys use them here on HW and have wondered if he is missing something that might help him. Since he is a year out of surgery and still has ED, I am interested in any protocols that are useful for recovery.

My uro didn't have a strong opinion for or against, but wrote the prescription. It was a real hassle to get paid by insurance.

I've been using it, meds, and trimix since the start of all this. Has it helped? Don't know. Could I be worse off? Yes.

Guess I'll never know.

GB: I used a VED right after catheter removal, every day at 2 times per day for about 9 months.  Now at 28 months, I am almost where I was in every regard prior to surgery.  Look at it this way....It is easy to pick one up on Amazon for under $60 and only takes about 10 minutes per day to use.  IMO you would be crazy not to go thru this routine even if the results were minimal.  But, I believe that it not only physically helped but it gave me hope and a sense that I was doing everything that I could do for my little friend!

bluebird-Definitely look into it. I use the Osborn Erectaid Esteem. Without it for me, traditional sex would be gone. I know people can get creative without an erection, but why sacrifice if you don't have too. Regards Inkhorn

Guys Thank you so much ... i used it briefly after my surgery but then stopped when erections came back normally (no oral meds and no VED) but now i am 6 years post surgery and declining a bit in size and sexual appetite, so i figured i should get back to VED and oral meds (such as low daily dose of Levitra) to get back into full swing....all your comments are excellent and very helpful... thanks again for sharing

If the oral meds work well then they will help more than the VED but a combination treatment seems to work best. The VED helps with size issues but less so for the overall health of the tissues.

I used it as recommended by surgeon, only when the meds stated to work , plumpness, movement. got full erections, tho never used it for sex. Since meds work , to an extent, meaning, erection occurs, but difficult to sustain. I stopped. I may use it again whith full ,med aided, erection and see how it effects longevity after taking it off. I believe the pump, is a valuable aid in relieving ED, but as caper319 says, "don't forget the shaving creme," it allows a better seal"
