Email Addresses

Hi Folks:

I was just on the HW Moderator Forum and learned that a loose-cannon member (now banned) was using the email addresses listed on HW to send (shall we say) strange messages to members of that forum. While we have not had that problem in PCa, may I suggest a couple of things:

1. Never list your email address in the body of a post. That info can be harvested by spammers with the obvious results.

2. If you want to show an email in your profile you might want to use one of the HW addresses available to you or use a unique email address that is not your "regular" email for your other business. Personally I use a free Gmail address that is dedicated to HW but obviously there are lots of options here.

81, at the top of the page - right under "Forums & Chat" there is a tab marked "Email". If you click on that you will see that you can sign up for a "Healingwell.net" email address if you choose to do so.

Update on this subject. It turns out that the loose-cannon I described has been so friendly to many of the folks he contacted that they provided him with lots of personal information about their medical conditions, doctors and other private stuff. Now that the guy has turned out to be such a wierdo they pretty freaked out about the contact with him.

So, I guess the message is to be somewhat wary of the wild west nature of the internet....
