Heating pad worked wonders for me in those early days following surgery. I also found waking not only helped with the soreness, but also greatly helped me regain bladder control rapidly. Good luck!!

getting well, I don't have much to offer you on the subject, but I do offer a welcome to HW! I'm sure you will get a lot of great support here, but please understand that sometimes during the weekends the responses can be a little hit an miss...

a nice hot baths provides a world of relief for much of what ails you.

Hang in there. Before you know it, this will all be just a bad memory.

thanks so much to all who have responded. so nice to be able to share experiances with others who have had the same surgery. will be three weeks tomorrow since surgery and I feel that I am making some progress with the continence issue. wearing depends guards in my jockey pouch boxer breifs. not gushing any more just a lot of small leaks. many trips to the bathroom but I can deal with that. still swollen in groin area around penis but assume that will shrink fairly soon. very sore testicles. (I think they must have been playing ping pong with my testicles during surgery) Walking every day and doing three sets of 20 kegals evey day. docs said cancer was totally contained in the prostate. glad I caught it early in a routine checkup.
