Back in July and Aug I did the 33 IGRT adjavent treatments. Initial SEs were proctitis diarrhea and rectal bleeding. All but resolved. Now four months later I'm experiencing this pain in my left hip that comes and goes.I say comes and goes because when i sit for a short time and goto stand up I get this searing hot pain the shoots down my leg into my knee and lower leg some times its so bad I loose my balance, and almost fall to the floor. The other problem I'm experiencing is this nasty itching and burning on my Perineum Please forgive spelling. And my scrotum feels likes a peace of raw meat. Lotion helps to calm it down but it is relentless. Every week it seems to get a little worse ,including the hip pain . Currently I taking zoladex and psa is 0.01 has been there since May when I started. No difference since RT. So does anyone have any words of wisdom to convey. Or similar SEs .it's a five hundred km trip one way if I want to see oncologist and it's not an easy drive this time of year, so I booked an appointment with urologist in Jan that's only a hundred klics. Would like to have a good arsenal of questions to ask when see him. In turn he will forward concerns to onc.
Thanks for your time

Sorry you have this.
Have you spoken to any doctor about
your problems?
Yes there is a possibility that your problems are a SE of the RT, but I find I have a tendency to blame every ache pain on my PCa or my SRT.
Odd and irregular bowel movements are definitely a SE though, but as you have found they do get quite a lot better over time.
RE you sore scrotum etc. One thing my docs told me about
sore skin post SRT was that I should not put any lotions or creams etc on the area without first checking with them, as not all lotions help, some just provide temporary relief due to the cooling effect, but actually make it worse due to the chemicals in them.
Nerve pain in hip/leg sounds like it could be back related eg sciatica, trapped nerve, slipped disc etc. (I have had problems with pain in the bone at the end of my spine, but docs say it is not related to SRT and by sitting carefully etc over many months it has got a lot better)
So, I think a visit to your ordinary (local) doc might be a good step to clear up what may or may not be responsible and save you unnecessary travelling or worrying.

Thanks forbthe reply Enghish alf, the pain in my hip starts basically from the exact spot where the tattooed me. It doesn't feel like a bone pain more, ike a bursa sac but readiatess across from my hip down the front of the leg in into my knee and calf.I started noticing it about
a month and half after RT.Didn't pay much attention to it until lately is just been getting worst. As far as the scrotom irritation its been slowly getting worse. My oncologist. Told me not to use lotion during the treatment because it would interfere with rad beam. No sure what the hell iis going on maybe nerve neuropathy hard to say hoping to find some one with same type of SEs
