Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I am one month and a day post op. Incontinence is getting better except I am getting up at least twice a night to pee. Don't know if it's mental or not. My Uro sent some urina out for culture to be sure.
I am using one light pad a day and I joke that the Knicks could use me since I have become an excellent dribbler.
Taking 40 mg Sildenafil per day. Some little stirrings but not a lot.
I would want some feedback on is my stamina. I am back to work on abridged hours and I am active but after almost any activity I feel like taking a nap. That's not like me. How long did it take to get your stamina back?

Hi Scooterdu- Merry Christmas to you too !!!
It took me several months to get total continence back, ie...no pads, but probably a year before no leaks at all....sometimes when lifting something or stooping down...and at night I think for some of us we want to empty often so we don't leak....
It took me almost 2 years to get any excitement back in "Willy".....some natural finally and sometimes good for a quicky !!! I rely on Trimix now for good long sex with my wife...it certainly works well for me.
It usually takes 6 months to get your stamina back....
Sounds like you are right on track with your recovery....everyone is different and it just takes time.
Happy Holidays !!!
Cheers !!!

It took me about
4 months to totally feel back to the old me stamina wise. Take your activity slowly and when you start feeling tired, quit and just add a little more next time. Your body needs time---the surgery you've had is a major shock to the system. Good luck to you.

It will take a good 4 to six months. But you'll get there. Your body has a lot of internal healing still to do and that's where most of your energy is going. Ease back into your normal routine.
Hang in there. It gets better each day.

Hey Scooter
I'm 8 weeks post RALP and my energy level is pretty good, not quite back to normal but way better than I was at 4 weeks. I can work an 8 hour day and commute for an hour each way.
At 4 weeks I could work for a few hours and then need a break or a nap. Give it some time
Happy Holidays

hey scooter, it took me many months before I didn't feel like napping. Like others have said, you've been through a lot, rest whenever you can, your body will tell you when you're ready to resume a pre-op schedule. congrats on how great you're doing already!

I know this thread is over a month old, but it makes me feel a little bit better as I read it. I am a very active person - power lifter, CrossFit, ski instructor, hiker, runner, cyclist, etc. For me, a "rest day is fly fishing all day. And I've been a little disappointed so far in how tired I've been since the surgery.
I tried to go back to work as soon as the catheter was out. That was two weeks ago, and I'm still struggling to do whole days of work.
I have been to the gym for some very light workouts - mostly flexibility and super light stuff that normally wouldn't feel like I'd done anything. The next day, I'm exhausted.
My boss at the ski mountain is hoping to see me in uniform this coming weekend and I'm not sure if I can pull it off or not.
I knew this was significant surgery, but I've been shocked at how much it's taken out of me, in terms of stamina, so far.
I'll just do what I can, when I can, and hope to see things return to normal over a few months, not the few weeks. I'm one of those types of people who tries to impose my will on things too much, and this is clearly the case where I need to just let the body tell me when it's ready.

Don't rush it. I am nine weeks post op and I am progressing but it is a process. When I overdo it, I pay a price. I run my own business and need to be active, but I am learning to live within my recuperative capabilities.
You have had major surgery. Two years ago I had an appendectomy and bounced back from it much more quickly. You will get better. Just take your time.
Good luck, Scooter
