I won't belabor prior explanations, but suffice it to say I had a horrible clinical session for my first trimix injection and have had an aversion to going to the needle since. Coming up on a year post RP, I'm still 100% ED and I fell I'm getting to the "use it or lose it" point. Tried meds and trimix gel (which is injected into urethra via applicator - it's not a topical gel). The gel is not well known and is not very effective, that's why Uros generally don't prescribe it but I HAD to try everything before going to needle. And yes, everyone on the forum has told me what a weenie I am, that it's a tiny needle, yada, yada.
Here's the question: does anyone gulp a zanax or two before injecting to relax? If so, does the Xanax totally counteract the trimix to the point it's not effective?
Just asking.

probably not a good idea if your trying to get and sustain an erection. many tranquilizers make it physically difficult or impossible to sustain an erection.

I am skeptical that Xanex would interfere with the effect of trimix on the erectile tissues. If it keeps you from freaking out and flooding your bloodstream with adrenaline (which does interfere) then it is all to the good.
Having said that, some drugs do interfere with libido. I know prozac does. I dunno about
Xanex. You might find yourself with a big old erection and no inclination to do much with it. Or maybe it would work great.
Ask your doctor.
Full disclosure: I popped half a Xanex before each of my first two solo attempts with Trimix and I didn't have any untoward side effects. Once I got over being freaked out by the needle I stopped. Like I said, talk to your doctor.

My first two or three times I drew my 10cc then while it was warming to room temp, I had a stiff mixed drink. After the first few times I discovered that it wasn't necessary, but on occasion I still have one for the hell of it
