Just past 9 weeks since surgery.

Today, I left the house with no protection in my underwear. I wore the Depends underwear for about a week after the catheter came out, then the pads for about 3 weeks, and the shields since then. Nothing at all today and I didn't bring any backup clothing. I really haven't been having any leakage for a couple weeks, but I've been somewhat reluctant to go without the protection.

Hopefully, resolution of ED will be next. I'm tired of giving myself the Trimix shots, although it does work extremely well.

Best of luck with your surgery today. Things will hurt for a few days, but right now, every day is better than the last.

Yeah, dmlvt! That is a MAJOR milestone. I remember when I finally decided to pull the pad so to speak. I wore two pairs of boxers just in case. :) Did that for a few days and said...screw it. I can be bold and hold. No runs, no drips no errors just like Krylon paint.

Congratulations. ED is the trickier but those nerves will regenerate...just give them all the time they need.

Oh how I envy you guys that dry up so quickly. I am still using 4 pads 19 months after surgery. I am going back under the knife next month to correct my incontinence by having a AUS installed.

Congrats on your milestone!

Good luck to you Doug, May you follow in dmlvt's footsteps.

I hesitated to even make my post, because I didn't want someone else who was still having problems to feel bad. I can't even imagine how difficult 4 pads per day must be. I could probably get by at my day job, but things like skiing would be really difficult.

Don't think twice about it. Celebrate, I would!!!!!!
I'll be celebrating in about 10 weeks when they activate the AUS.

I remember when I stopped wearing a pad. It was about 4 weeks after the surgery, but for the previous two weeks it was probably unnecessary (just a crutch, I guess).

Unfortunately, we have all kinds of combinations of outcomes!

You can't hurt us by reminding us that we leak. We remember that every minute of every day. We only mention that we're here so you can know that it is not a 'minor' milestone. It's a big deal.

So get out there in your big-boy pants and tear up the town.

That is no minor milestone. While ED is an important issue, you probably aren't having sex multiple times every day, so incontinence is a daily reminder. Once I was good to go without protection is when I started to focus on conquering the ED. One victory at a time was my motto.

Great news and I'm sure you're happy with the progress.

Because of my DX, not given the opportunity but only HT, I do support everyone here that's making progress.

We're all taking it one day at a time.

Yep, Hooray Dmlvt! I'm dry through the night and whenever sitting. I can hold it after I get up ( from the day the catheter came out) and I can stop peeing like a race horse on command and hold it for 10 to 20 secs and then restart. ( those are good signs, right?) But 4 weeks from the surgery, and 2 weeks since the cath came out, still, if I am up(especially if walking) I am peeing, at least dribbling. Period. It seems maybe 1% better every day, and I am looking forward to the future dryness. And Big Mac, if that don't improve as expected, I'll be going for that AUS also! Looking forward to your celebration in 10 weeks!

Wonder if they can do an AUS AND penile prosthesis in same patient?
