4 year mark with positive margin

Greetings folks, hard to believe but just had my 4 year blood letting and still pulling all zeros even with a positive margin. Everything pretty much working ok so no major complaints and carrying on with life. So take heart pos. margin guys, it doesnt mean the end of the world. Be well all! Tim

Logo, gleason going in and coming out was 6. Pathology showed the tumor was right on the very edge and was nearly out and loose, so decision to have the surgery at that time proved to be a good one.

True Gleason 6 (as evaluated in a postoperative pathology) rarely metastasizes. See the article: DO ADENOCARCINOMAS OF THE PROSTATE WITH GLEASON SCORE (GS) ≤6 HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO METASTASIZE TO LYMPH NODES?  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3421030/

This is one of the reasons why people with Gleason 6 would risk Active Surveillance.

I promise I wasn't asking cause I thought you OT'd. My issue ,is with postop gl6 cases who agonize needlessly. I opted for surgery 8weeks post diagnosis and was initially a gl6 and feel I made a good call. congrats, I was "hoping you may be a " 9 , Youunderstand what I mean , so as to encourage other9's tho, I was undetectable @ 44mos. which was about 14mos ago.
