I am no expert but it sounds to me like it means you will live a long happy life and never have to worry about prostate cancer again

Lots, Just curious, what is your age?  You are a first for me to see someone with a Gleason 5.

It looks like you figured out how to post your signature, (see your post on April test). Does that say "pos. right apex margin"? I would not think your stats would be what they are if you had a positive margin. It is a very small margin but it is noted on your path report.
Otherwise it looks great!

As far as I can see that is a great report -- just the kind one wants to see. It has just enough adverse findings so you don't need to weep for a pristine prostate, cut out in its prime, but nothing really worrisome going forward. The tiny little positive margin adds a hint of drama but in the context of your downgrade to Gleason 5 I doubt it means anything.

So, unless one of the smart guys overrules me, I see lots of hope, lotsahope -- and no worries.

Wanted to share my post op pathology with you, and finally give some positive news on incontinence.

Gleason score: 3+3=6/10
Sites of predominant tumor involvement: Apex and Left Base
Bilateral Tumor: Present
Percent of Prostate involved in Tumor: Less than 5%
Extraprostatic extension: Not Identified
Margins: Negative
Seminal Vesicle Involvement: Not Identified
High Grade Pin: Present
Perineural Invasion: Not Identified
Lymphatic Space Invasion: Not Identified *Note* Lymph Nodes were not removed because of Gleason ^
6. According to my Urologist/Surgeon, it is routine not to remove lymph nodes in this case unless visual during surgery indicate abnormality???
AJCC Stage(7th ed): pT2c Nx

Again, first post op PSA 6 weeks ago was 0.04, having my #2 PSA on Thursday, 10 April.

Incontinence is showing signs of improving! I can get by with 2 to 3 pads per day now, with normal activity! I did some raking for about 4 hours Sunday, and changed my pad every hour, not because I was saturated, but to see the level of stress incontinence. It was there, but no where near as it was 2 months ago! I am enjoying PT, started last week, and have been blessed with a very compassionate Instructor. After the surgeon visit this week, I begin with an Incontinence Nurse to start Biofeedback. The future looks bright and dry, at least it is beginning to appear that way. I've developed, "LOTSAHOPE", over the last few weeks! Thank you to all for helping me along the way. I'm only 2 hrs. from Rochester, and if welcome, this might be my first excursion to meet all in September!

Bob,

There will be a spot for you by the fire in Rochester. If you don't like to sit on the smokey side of the fire you should sit opposite to me since the smoke tends to follow me.

Oh, and great post-op report. Congrats.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm getting a little anxious. My first post op psa due on 4/17. Toyoung, I am almost 69 (June). Looking forward to posting good numbers.

3+2 with a positive margin? That sound rare, anyone?
