I don't want you to freak out, but in my opinion you have a right to concern, and should be diligent about seeking out the answers.
Many on here have an opinion that any number less than .1 or some even .2 is a zero, and not to worry about it. Truth of the matter is, that if the test sees a .05, it is detectable, and is not a zero. If the surgery was successful, he should have been <.01 at the 6 week mark. As was mentioned, 6 week isn't always a precise number, but certainly at the 3 month mark he should be undectable, or <.01.
I am impressed that your doctor is still looking for a reason. We would like to see a copy of the surgical report, which you can get from the hospital medical records department. While you are at it, get the pathology report as well.
There are lots of reasons for a detectable PSA. Don't start thinking about dying from cancer in his bones yet. Let your doctor work through the options.
