Extra capsular extension?

ECE means the disease is no longer confined to the capsule (prostate) but it does not mean it is no longer curable. Sticking your head out the window doesn't mean you have left the house yet.

I found out that I had ECE in my pathology report AFTER my surgery. So far, almost 2 years later, I am not showing any recurrence of the cancer.

I would suggest you talk to your doctor to ask him what it means to YOU!

A DRE showed 2 nodules. Would that be something to do with it? I'm assuming here that nodules mean its "sticking its head out of the window".

This may be a dumb question Ronnie but have you considered brachytherapy? With ADT if needed. I ask because your likely EPE is likely going to mean that nerve sparing surgery is going to be difficult and side effects such as importance and incontinance are going to be a likely issues.

Sorry that you have to be here but we all are. The treatment procedures that you have decided upon should work OK; age and personality play a large part in our decisions. When my uro tried to get a date for surgery I rebelled since I was informed that with my stats my nerves would be removed and the surgeon would have to excise widely which would leave me permanently incontinent. Given my ego and obnoxious personality I elected to have radiation at another facility and have no regrets. I am fully continent and at my age won't discuss ED.
Yes, I was a t3a with ece and so far I am undetectable while the lupron wears off. I wish you the best and hope you realize that you may have some serious SE's with your selected treatments.
