I think I forgot to start a May Tests thread.

For me, it was so nice to be free of tests in May.

Unfortunately, I'll be seeing the vampire in 2 weeks, and then seeing Dr. Lam 10 days after that!

I sure hope I get decent results as that will make for a most pleasant doctor visit.

(At least we will be visiting our daughter!).

Anyway, feel free to use this thread to post your June test details.

Hubby just got the good news today that his PSA is still undetectable 2.5 years after finishing hormone therapy and 4.5 years after RALP! He will remain on a 6 month PSA testing schedule for at least one more year - lots of smiles here today!

last report had me at 6 plus psa. This is a drop from earlier 25 plus number. Will see next week what has transpired with the little cancer buggers.

June visit to NIH shows PSA at .64 which means the rise has slowed down somewhat.
Last month was .50 (going up after Enzalutamide ended) April was .02.
It's time for the ProstVac to do its thing and slow the rise...

Five years is an excellent run, and it looks like you've also gone to annual testing.

Could you tell us your original numbers at diagnosis (Gleason, PSA, etc.) and what your treatment was, which to judge from your PSA pattern above, must have been done between January and August of 2009? (Just curious).

Saw the Doc. yesterday 3years post op and still hitting zero's. The Dr. states that if my post op tests were not so extensive, he would move me to once a year visits, but.... still need the psa draw every six months. Makes you wonder if you will ever by in the clear..

I'm off to see the doctor tomorrow. A little nervous to see what my last PSA was as the previous results were up. Also will get the results of my 2nd MRI.

Oh, to be young and free again when health was not much more than an afterthought . . . .

I had my doctor's appointment which delivered good news and not so good news.

My PSA was up to 8.9 last February which was concerning because I've told myself I would go for surgery if it goes above 10. But I was cheating a certain amount on my diet over Christmas with all the temptations of sweets, etc. I buckled down on my diet again after that test and my PSA as of yesterday was 6.2 - quite a significant drop. So that is the good news.

However, the recent MRI showed a small nodule confined within the prostate. The last MRI from 2 years ago didn't detect anything. The urologist doesn't seem overly concerned and says the technology is quite a bit better than a couple of years ago so more things show up but he does want to target that area on the next biopsy.

I had my blood drawn this morning and got the email this afternoon. I scarcely had time to build up a decent level of anxiety.

It turns out that me and my positive margins are still hanging in there after 3 1/2 years. PSA is undetectable! Take heart, you positive margin guys.

Just received results from end of May... Still <.015 AND liver enzymes are back in the normal range!

June 18th is my next appointment with my vampire.

Hey, I'm shooting for the stars with my current doubling time. It will be a disappointment if I don't break 6.

Will be getting PSA and T level in 2 weeks. This will be first level since stopping 6 mo Lupron injections. Still having some hot flashes so suspect T level will still be low . I am anxious about PSA as I come off ADT .Next few months will be key. James

Sorry to hear about your PSA rise, Dreamerboy. I think I'd be talking to the doc about another biopsy if I were in your socks, but I'm sure your situation is still very manageable. Good luck and hang in there.

To my friends the wampuscats, I'm glad to hear that the velocity is leveling off. We take our little victories where we can get them, don't we? Good luck with the ProstVac. You've been a success story so far and I'm betting on continued success. Hang on and keep your sense of humor.

Here's hoping for the others who have been or will be tested this month to get some good news.

Saw the vampire today and contributed lots of vials of the red stuff.

I had called Dr. Lam and asked if he wanted to do any additional tests for my appointment on the 24th.

Wow, he ordered a ton more tests. Better to do them locally, in-network, then do them at the office at a much greater expense!

With so many tests, I fully expect some abnormalities!

I should have some results in 1-2 days, including the all-important PSA.

i despise the intrusion of these tests and this nervous time awaiting results.

This sucks. I'm sure you all understand

Well, results are in and I am not a happy camper, although I guess it could be worse.

After posting a few undetectables (<0.02) , this reading was 0.04.

I assume there will be no action to take, but it is worrisome.

I will be seeing Dr. Lam in exactly one week

My visit was today.
Was due my Prolia anyway, so got that.
With the 1.7 > 3.1 PSA climb in less than 6 weeks, I went ahead an pulled the trigger on the next Lupron (6 month) shot today. That without knowing what the PSA is today, but it will certainly be 5+.

I'll just sit in the corner at Jeff's in September, keeping the place warm.

First post op PSA was 1.15, not what I was hoping for. Will have to do some some thinking.

Had my PSA test this week as part of routine physical. The number is .1. I think after almost 6 years I have finally reached my nadir. Life is good.

Some tests were pending and now I have the final results.

My T level has gone from 10 to 140.

No wonder I seem to be feeling better!!!

But even better than that, it means my PSA increase is totally due to my increase in T. It means it is still very very sensitive to T. This means it is not close to being castrate resistant. Eventually, you suppress T but the PSA increases. That's not the case here.

It means that it should respond to HT down the road, hopefully very far down the road
