I stopped having blood in the urine after 4 weeks but the back end is still bleeding a lot when I go to the toilet (5 wks).
Is this normal? How long will it take (ball park figure) to go away?

A call to your doctor might be in order.

No, it's not normal. But didn't you say the surgeon said there was spread to the rectal wall? Did he try to cut it out? Perhaps he may have nicked your rectum during the operation. Was that mentioned in the surgeon's report?

I'll need to ring the hospital in the morning. I just wasn't sure whether it was usual or not.
The surgeon did say it had spread to the rectum but not whether he cut into it out not.

I do not have a copy of the surgeon report (although I did ask for it). I'll see what they say tomorrow and let you know.
